Back By Popular Demand! Squash Recipe from That Nutty Redhead Praline Nuts September 06 2017

It's that time of year again when we love all things harvest! Back by popular demand is That Nutty Redhead's original Acorn Squash Recipe featuring our Breakfast in New England Praline flavored nuts. It's a scrumptious dish, and perfect for using up the bounty of squash this season! Try it on other squash varieties as well.

That Nutty Redhead's Baked Acorn Squash

Take several Acorn Squash, rinse under water then cut in half and scoop out the seeds.

Cut off a sliver of squash across the bottom so they sit flat in a pan. Place squash in a baking pan and pour 1 cup of water into the pan.

Sprinkle nutmeg & cinnamon liberally on top of each piece. Take a tablespoon of butter (optional) and put it in the center of each piece. Cover pan with foil.

Bake at 350* for 50- 75 minutes. Stick with a fork to test, it should be soft & tender.

While still hot, liberally drizzle maple syrup, or honey, over the squash. Sprinkle all over with chopped up Breakfast In New England Praline flavor gourmet nuts from That Nutty Redhead. Serve and enjoy!

Today, Lisa and I will have the pleasure of speaking to students at Northeastern University, in Boston. They're focus is entrepreneurship, and That Nutty Redhead will be their special interest. The class is taught by John H. Friar, PhD Executive Professor, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Senior Associate Group Coordinator Founding Dean, School of Technological Entrepreneurship Senior Fellow, Pioneer Institute Senior Advisor, Mass High Tech Council Northeastern University We will be in good company. Matt and our Nutty Redhead February 23 2017

Roche Brothers finds it important to carry local products, and hire people with disabilities. Bravo! Monday night in Westwood MA I had the pleasure of meeting a young man named Matt. Although confined to a wheelchair, it doesn't stop him from dusting the shelves, and sharing a smile.
I had just set up my demo table with samples of my nut snack brand That Nutty Redhead when Matt came over to chat. He wanted to know what I was doing and what it's like to be a local business. He also sampled the nuts and told me that he really liked the Breakfast in New England Maple toffee flavor. While at the table he encouraged people to try a sample. One woman sampled and bought a package of New England Praline with sea salt flavor to add to her salad. Matt was smiling from ear to ear that he helped me close the sale.
He then told me that he had to get back to his job, (he's been there 3 years). He also thanked me for taking the time to speak to him. I told him that it was my pleasure to meet him. He then said something that touched my heart. "Thank you for being nice to me and talking. Not everyone is nice to me. You're nice to me like my mom. "
Let's all remember that everyone counts. Everyone can do something, we all matter in this world, and it doesn't cost anything to be nice.

A man stopped at my demo table last night in the Bedford MA Whole Foods. He smiled and said, "Do you remember me? Clue, Seattle." Of course! We had sat next to each other on a plane back in September from Seattle to Boston after I attended the dynamic Next Level Summits food event. At the time I mentioned my company, That Nutty Redhead. He laughed and told me that he thought it was a great brand name. Later that week he went to Whole Foods to look for my snacks out of curiosity. He wanted me to know he and his family love them & are big fans of the Breakfast in New England flavor praline nuts. Thanks Jeff for the encouraging words, and for supporting local!

I love when the following happens. A young mother with her 2 year old daughter stopped by my demo table at Whole Foods Melrose today. She told me that her family were already customers of our That Nutty Redhead product, and quite delighted with everything about our product. Mother picked up the smaller 2 ounce BNE for her daughter and continued on their shopping way. The next thing I heard was, "Mommy, the big bag!" It's nice to see that That Nutty Redhead is in safe hands with future generations :)

I was very encouraged to receive a phone call from a customer today who simply "had to call" and tell me how "absolutely wonderful my gourmet nut snacks are." We recently met at a demo sampling at Foodies Market in Duxbury, MA. She wanted me to know that she was going to a retreat with seven lady friends this weekend and was treating each of her friends to a bag of That Nutty Redhead Praline Nuts. I recently met a professor from Northeastern University in Boston at one of my demos. I was doing a sample tasting for my brand That Nutty Redhead Gluten-free Gourmet Nut Snacks. He loved my unique product, and my story. He's teaching a course on Entrepreneurial Marketing in the spring and asked if I'd come and speak to the class. He would like to have their student team do some market/customer research on my product/company. I'm delighted and looking forward to the opportunity.

A great weekend for That Nutty Redhead in Providence, R.I., and Hartford, CT. Sellouts of one flavor or the other at 4 of 6 stores we demoed. Our 2oz. started packs were big sellers. But I must say, "Cranston, you rule!!!" Thanks so much for the 2 case 8oz. and 2 case 2oz. sales in the couple of hours we were there. Best yet, sales are picking up when we're not even there.
