What is a Praline nut? By Merriam-Webster definition a Praline nut is a confection of nuts and sugar, for example almonds cooked in boiling sugar until browned. There are several variations on the recipe, our recipe does not contain dairy.
Are you licensed for food sales? Absolutely! We have a local retail license and a state of Massachusetts wholesale license with a fully inspected kitchen. I also have Allergen Awareness Certification Training.
Are the gourmet nuts Gluten-free? Yes. Our nut product is certified gluten-free by Katahdin Labs in Maine.
Why are the nuts soft in texture? Our raw gourmet nuts are steam cooked, never fried, roasted, or baked, then glazed with sugar, spices and all natural flavorings. This results in a texture similar to raw nuts, but unlike raw nuts, ours also have added flavor. Many of our customers appreciate the raw nut like texture since they can still taste the nuts. They also appreciate not biting down on a rock hard nut which can hurt teeth.
What is the shelf life of your gourmet nuts? Since the nuts are in heat sealed packaging, locking in freshness, our gourmet nut blends have a shelf life of 9-12 months. You can also refrigerate and freeze packages up to a year, if desired.
Do the gourmet nuts use added oil or contain trans fat? Our product does not contain trans fat, or any added oil. We do not roast the nuts, which is a form of frying in oil. Our raw gourmet nuts are steam cooked to bring out their flavor, then glazed with sugar, spices and all natural flavorings. This results in a texture similar to raw nuts, but unlike raw nuts, ours also have added flavor. Since we don't add any extra oil our calorie count is lower than the roasted variety, another bonus with our snacks.
Do the nut products contain eggs? No, we don't use eggs, which is great news for those with an egg allergy!
Do you use any dairy or animal products? No, we don't use any animal fat oils, nor honey or dairy products.
Do the nuts contain soy? No.
Do the nuts & chocolates contain corn syrup or high fructose corn syrup? No. We do not use either. We use only pure non GMO cane sugar on the nuts, not beet sugar.
Can I order just almonds, or just cashews? Yes, I can do special orders, but there is a 2lb minimum.
Do you offer corporate gifts and favors for weddings? Yes, we can accommodate any type of event and will work with you on the packaging, or you can use your own.
